Romans 7:24

The heart desires to be misled.  It hopes

And hopes and hopes.  The heart wants silliness

Instead of facts and facts.  It goes down slopes

Of wishfulness.  The heart picks frilliness

On Valentines, or hard testosterone

If masculine.  The human heart, if male,

Thinks “backseat date without a chaperone.”

This heart shape shifts.  Its aim is to impale.

Religion comes along and tells us what

To do — and not.  The problem is that we

Ignore when right gets in the way.  Our gut

And heart gang up and choose selectively.

  There is the slightest chance (once in a while)

    That men and women may reject the vile.
