Tried by Fire

               Tried by Fire

“I can never feel certain of any
truth but from a clear perception
of its Beauty.” ~ John Keats

A truth that forms outside pure beauty fails.
No matter who propounds a thought, or what
Cathedra it proceeds from, if its grails
Are filled with poison, it’s a chamber pot,
However useful its design, one filled
In nights of diarrhea mixed with bile
And, thus, a Godly justice that is thrilled
With torturing forever and a while
Is obviously repugnant to the heart.
The ugliness of such a doctrine screams
Its falseness, shouts it as the Devil’s part,
A cancer for polluting Heaven’s streams.

..The thought that God would torment souls in fire
….Is not of beauty—but of blistered ire.
