Trapped in Various Spaces
Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem
If Jupiter could smash the railway track,
It would, but, spinning far too far away,
Fails. Asteroids space’s junk-like flak
Would kill wee Edinburgh with a stray
Collision. Mars would bring on World War Three
With hydrogen in blasts. Hiroshima
Could not imagine holocaust, its glee,
Obliterating wee Iwo Jima.
If Saturn could deploy its rings as saws
That swirl around, that spheroid would slice through
The earth, our wee speck planet cut like gauze.
While killing us, our sun would swell to blue. [Bing Videos]
Don’t worry, though. We(e) earthlings do our best
Annihilating under house arrest.
