The Heart is Never Central

Modern poetry  modern verse  contemporary poetry  contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

The heart is never central. It is to
The left and far too far above the base.
The heart is not positioned for the true.
It loves too much the feelings and to race
Around with them, wherever. To the right
A bit and it would be there placed behind
The sternum. There the heart must lose some sight.
Protected it were then but slightly blind.
Do not forget the left is sinister.
The right place, at the center, for most men
Is where a lover’s mouth should minister
..To it, again, again, again, again.
….The center for a man is down, below—

The center of his plan. Watch it swell and grow.
