The Blinded Poet Sang
The ancient Greeks were heartless beasts. They loved
The slaughter in the Iliad, the rape
Of women captured and subdued. Greeks shoved
Themselves between those thighs and hips agape
For domination by triumphant men.
They gloated in the victories of the sword
And thrusting maleness. They were like a den
Of monsters wanting bodies that are gored.
They took dead men as trophies and their wives
And children as their slaves by brutal rule.
The Greeks instead of hearts had pumping knives
And mouths that spilled testosterone as drool.
..When ancient Greeks had won a gut-spilled fight,
….They hunched inside war widows for the night.
