Splendor
Exploding faster now, the universe
Expands, violently, a spherical wave,
A globe-shaped tidal wave or pyre, a curse.
It is a wider-living deathly grave
For all it gives birth to, a hex on life
Produced in its calamities. It burns
Flame breath across unlimited space, rife
With its creative destructions. It churns
Hot star deaths cold-heartedly. Long ago,
So long ago (such vastness eyes can not
See, nor can mind dream), this dying, surging glow
Began from one intensely total dot.
What went before it seemed would never cease,
Divinity filled void, one ancient peace.
