Yes, even if a Giant Redwood held

A song in every needle lifted high

Towards heaven, even if these ballads swelled

Forever upward and presumed to fly,

These melodies would never mean enough

To match my love for you.  Yes, even if

You came to me on hurricanes, their rough

Winds could not conquer my commitment, stiff

As God’s erection making Mary full

With Christ.  No, even if the moon became

The sun of passion, it could never pull

Off miracles as hot as my love’s flame.

No night can ever sing as long as notes

Within love’s opera where lusting floats.
