Reverence

                       Reverence

An ordinary little bird, but, then,

He calls like angels fired by Satan, Christ,

And Atlas booster engines.  Like a wren

Though larger, larks are mystically enticed

To singing, lilting, praising in the air

And carry melodies of hymning high,

High, higher like a melody of prayer,

Or something ever more than sacred.  Cry

Of utterness, of loveliness, and thrill

The song alludes to universal love.

The phrases of this worship spread and spill

From near Jerusalem in heaven above.

..The angels there bow heads and fold their wings

….Because of throat of skylark while it sings.
