Resurrection

Resurrection

                                         Amos 5:8 and Psalm 137:11-12

A darkness came upon him, darker than

His curls.  Towards the earth like them it fell

But with a weight to test his heart, this man,

His heart and core and guts*.  A note from Hell

Was written secretly upon his son’s

Sweet brain and when the universe revealed

That message, Matthew died.  The devil’s guns

Shot glory out of skies, with moons repealed,

Suns blasted black, and constellations closed.

Charles turned to Him Who made Orion’s stars,

The Seven Stars, the God Who is supposed

To raise up souls and wipe away their scars.

This same Jehovah took him into light

That turns deep nights to dayspring, black to bright.
