Plato was Wrong
The world we know is not those shadows. We
Are shadows, less than shadows, faded by
A darkness. Shadows laid on shadows, free
Of any weight or substance, we are shy
Of meaning since we die, and since the stars
And everything will vanish. All will fade
In entropy, suns leaving less than scars,
Than see through cicatrices, all arrayed
As nothingness with nothing to recall
It. Evanescent meaning, even if it did
Exist, becomes the blankest blank of all.
Obliteration makes the final bid.
..Philosophy will be far minimized:
….That Plato’s thought was far too oversized.
