Patriotism for Putin
Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem
The soldiers have hard skulls, each made of steel.
Unfortunately, though, for them they lack
The power to cry. Because they do not feel
Emotions that are decent, each soul slack
Except for love of nation, stainless skulls
Have sockets for their eyes burnt out by hate
(Or something duller). Tanks though with steel hulls
Are vulnerable. Flesh makes soldiers bait
For piercing ammunition made to break
Through tank walls. So the metal skulls of those,
The sons of Russia, live and move with fake
Esteem, dispensable as dominos.
In cemeteries heroes fill the holes
Of Mother Russia with their soulless souls.
