Our Choice of Ancestors
What we think, we become. Buddha
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” King James Version
We choose our own mind’s geneology.
We choose what books we read, what films we see,
We pick religion (plague theology),
And poxed philosophy. We bend the knee
To what we choose. We worship Mammon, bucks
And pounds, celebrities and other slime.
We click to choose the mindless sewer flux
Of streaming and would rather watch a crime
Show than attend a Bach performance. Face
The truth. The ancestors we choose to mould
Our characters are what our brains embrace.
We are what we select, what we behold
On porno sites, or hear sleek preachers say
On screens. We choose how we are led astray.
