No Time for Thoughtless
Guessing
The modern, scientific concept that
No time existed till the Big Bang flashed
Is just about as stupid as a hat
Without a brain beneath it. First, the smashed
Down kernel, though unimaginably
Dense, small and tense, was hunkered there, yes? So,
Its tight existence proves there had to be
Eternity or time, however slow
Or fast, however hotly tiny, vast,
Immeasurable no matter what. (Ha Ha!)
And, second, even if an empty past
Was all there was, blank time contained that awe.
Besides, who knows if there was nothing first,
Or something incalculable to burst?
