My Silences Concealed
in Mental Rays
My secret reveries are best, those dreams
I keep in skull and spirit. In my head
Is where they spawn themselves as laser beams
That ricochet around my brain instead
Of gossiping around the world. They flash
A moment and are gone like footsteps on
The shore where phosphorescent lovers dash
Along the universe’s sands. Dreams dawn
Where night (my humdrum life) would rather rule.
They fade to glimmers if I do not move
Them to my chest. Red organs make a pool
Of them to wash what hearts must disapprove.
The veiling of their secrets keeps alive
The mysteries husbanded so soul can thrive.
