Meager Medieval Males and Meager Modern Males

We wonder if they honestly deceived
Themselves with legends told as histories.
Were decorated prose and rhyme believed
As fact? Perhaps they wanted mysteries
Instead of truth; alliteration, rhymes,
And other tricks of writing would convey
The heroes whom they hallowed from the times
Of haars. The parchment poetry held sway
Because medieval hearts commanded men
To hang on to such Hollywood-like trash
As Star Wars trilogies. Folk want again,
Again slick Game of Thrones clichéd mish mash
Or worse, those Harry Potter Quidditch twists.
Unthinking men prefer to live in mists.
