Masculine Self-reliance ~ Know Thyself
Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem
The fact we do not think about when, BANG,
The climax happens (male) or comes and comes
And comes if in the woman, when nerves clang
In whanging spill and thrilling god-like drums
Is that at least in man it helps him make
New freedom for himself. Relief impels
An absence of desire so he can shake
Off shackles such as pink romance’s spells.
A liberty erupts in lassitude
At first, a wholesome nap or longer sleep
But then comes something like self crassitude.
She feels it and then he can make his leap.
A self-reliance soon asserts his size.
Self-definition grows and makes him wise.
