The Byron thing is what unthinking minds

Presume is the Romantic core, that rot.

The self, whatever that is, veils and blindstt

The truth.  The blue-eyed self is just a blot

Upon the lens the eye must use.  The view

Is hampered by the blinkers there beside

That eye.  A soul requires much more than you

As “I” and “me” will simply grasp.  Inside

The person is conflicted so it can’t

See clearly.  Fun house mirrors must distort.

Results of soul’s attempts produce a rant

However thrilling.  It will only thwart.

..An eye test made of facts outside the soul

….Must be applied.  Straight thought requires the whole.
