Leaving Sentimentality Behind in a Hurricane Eons from Now in a Parallel Cosmos

Leaving Sentimentality Behind in a Hurricane Eons from Now in a Parallel Cosmos

Joshua 10:12-13

Love isn’t possible but there you are

Beside me in the morning, lashes, eyes

All closed to me and love.  Romance is far

Away, like galaxies beyond surprise

In some untouchable and parallel,

But constellationless, pretend star plane,

Yet you, my love, are something God can’t quell,

Not even if the sun could stand in pain

As still as immortality.  Romance

Waits, not for us.  Love waits until I kiss

Your lids and lick your lashes, make them dance

Awake.  They wake from night’s and dreams’ abyss

To find with me a gravity-less day

Of truth beyond romance.  Thighs start to splay.
