Internal Truth

               Internal Truth

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

Time stops.  It touches all the space between

The planets, comets, stars and galaxies.  Time spreads

Yet stops, eternity like this, unseen

But everywhere.  It fails to be in beds

Except in holiest of sheets.  Days halt

To make the widest room for wildest nights.

The days and nights retreat to make a vault

Beyond the measurement of loveless blights.

The light years’ and the eons’ rays expand,

Yet not.  They freeze.  A mind forever Yes

Asserts the timelessnesses which command

This Dispensation with its vast largesse.

Your lips and tongue and spit press in, in, in.

    The cosmos recreates itself within.
