Heaven and Earth

When gods get bored, they leave eternity

And step through gauze-like curtains into time.

While being trapped in their supernity,

They yearn for thrills on earth and cruel crime.

(They sometimes wonder if there is a jot

Of difference in between those sins and throbs

Of pleasure here on earth.)  Most cannot spot

The difference.  One of them throws lightning, lobs

It carelessly and feels excited when

It causes scorching pain in boy or girl.

The god prefers the slaughtering of men.

He loves to witness agonies unfurl.

  Gods love producing anguish in our days

    Especially if torture ricochets.
