Harvest and Outside Harvesting

Harvest and Outside Harvesting

1 Kings 8: “Then spake Solomon: “The Lord said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.” First Samuel 22: “He made darkness pavilions round about Him, dark waters.” Psalm 18:11: “He made darkness his secret place.”

The harvesting of darkness is the chore

Of mortals.  God is not required to glean

The fields of black.  He brings it from the shore

Of seas so vast that galaxies unseen

By human eyes are lost beyond the stars

Our telescopes record.  His realm’s beyond

The countless constellations with their scars

Of darkness in between.  His lights were spawned

By him, and we can see them, but the stark

Reality is stretched beyond the rim

Of heaven’s bodies.  There beyond that arc

Is blackness unrelenting holding him.

..Unmeasured is its magnitude.  Its blight

….Cannot be physicked even by his light.
