I met a man who, just as silly in
His thinking as is Plato when he talks
On poetry (who claims that it is sin
And godly both at once and therefore balks
At being logical), was all mixed up.
This Eastern man denied all normal thought
Religions have to offer. In his cup
Of doctrines was this creed: his mind begot
Reality. The real formed in his mind
And every actuality came from
His brain. All holy prophets were as blind
To truth as empty eyeholes filled with scum.
This guy was just a fantasist who lied
And lived with falseness deep inside.
