“Great deceiver of the world” ~ A. Cleveland Coxe

The prophets never thought about the chance

That Armaggedon could be caused by blond

Coiffuer’s psychosis.  Congress in a trance

And senators beneath the Devil’s wand

Are gripped by threat and Mammon.  Someone said,

“The love of money is the root of all,

All evil.”  Prophets did not know the spread

Of viral death could be induced to crawl

Inside the heart of well-constructed halls

Of decency and there could chew it out

Because a groper reigns.  His sneer appals

And when he loses he will pout and shout.

He leaves the Oval Office and then cries

To call the dogs of war with empire’s lies.
