God Hardened the Heart of Pharaoh
Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem
The goodness of their God in which He hid
The death of men awaits believers. They
Will still believe. Their doubt has truly slid
To nothing. Shocking slayings will not sway
To disapproval. He can kill a man
Who tries to save the sacred. God will pluck
A boy from nowhere, from a shepherd clan
In Bethlehem, and then the king is stuck
With him no matter what, no matter how
Many heathen foreskins he chops off.
God kills the Pharaoh. God does not allow
A softening heart. Forgive me if I scoff.
..The rest of you can cuddle up to Him.
….For me disgust is filled up to the brim.
