Donald, the Man

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

For reasons that I do not understand,

Society requires that men should show

Themselves quite plain in clothes, not seem too grand.

I think this might be since we don’t want faux

In men.  We want to see them as they are,

No make up, fluffed up shoulders and no hair

Styles, fluffed up statements.  So, my brother far

From fanciness sticks only to the bare

Display of face and simple pants and top.

That’s it.  We see his face, his nose, two ears

And arms.  Fanciness is given the chop,

Sissyishness among his only fears.

He jumped from Army paratrooper planes.

He shied away from any girlie stains.
