    Combination Subterranean Fates

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

Your blood cells taste of tight infinities

When swallowed by my heart.  I know because

It savors them and their affinities

With passion.  You and I know lasting’s laws

Inside our veins and arteries.  They glow

Like phosphorescent shrine caves, caverns filled

With paintings on their ceilings.  Streams flow

In waiting depths of hope, affections spilled

Along these vessels, fissure floors, wet, bright

With consummating stone combined with flood.

Our loving flows beyond the stalagmite

Of troubles.  Stalactites point down to blood.

That blood is not just yours but blends with mine,

    Mixed, making destiny to realign.
