Bright Month Epiphany

  Bright Month Epiphany

The light fell on the green, or rather greens
Of leaves inside the autumn air of street
And garden there among the city scenes,

Kaleidoscopic in September suite
Of urban beauty and variety.
The trees of Kensington spread out their arms
To welcome the secular piety
On offer.  Here it seems there are no harms
In London’s parks and roads.  A Peter Pan

Might swoop across the noontime blue of sky,
Across a peaceful dome of sapphire span
Where crocodiles and pirates and cannot fly.
But this is not a day for buccaneers

Yet more for blond and blue-eyed childlike seers.
