As Thermonuclear as Sodom
Miraculously clouds of that hot sort
That swirled around us, you and me, embraced
Us. Arms like these do not allow retort.
They hug as hot as those Elijah’s raced
To heaven suffered. Yet then unlike those
Our clouds held us together all those years.
It was as if our hottest whirlwind froze
Us as a prophecy-less prophet’s tears
Enfolded us in saline flames because
They knew your fate inerrantly was mine,
As cold God had to do with Moses’ laws
On fusion heated Sinai. Divine
Decrees are always high, and so he took
You from my chest. Our holy mountain shook.
