“And Man Became a Living Soul”
Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem
~ Genesis 2:7
Consider what your soul wants most of all,
The bhumisparsha not required. The palm
Holds fingers pointing out to banish dol
Depths, heights, weights, widths and range, his silent psalm
Not needed. Take cured counsel from your soul
Alone. Do not forget, though, that your flesh
And spirit must be taken as the whole,
Together. Spirit and the body mesh
And they are you. Do not be tricked to think
That spirit only holds your soul. That thought
Produces dogmas that can only stink
Of partial truth by priests and liars wrought.
Your core, and meat, and tingle in your skin
Make soul. It isn’t just some spirit twin.
