Abbess Cacoethes of the Paraclete

       Abbess Cacoethes

         of the Paraclete

So love-lorn lovers leave their letters on

The tomb of Abelard and Heloise

Because these failing modern lovers fawn

On legend, not on truth.  Upon their knees

They worship sea-haar hued romance, this since

They haven’t bothered to observe the facts.

No surpliced others managed to convince

Devoted Heloise to selfless acts

Of duty to her man.  He, the bully,

The one who sent her off be alone,

He, that Abelard, managed to sully

The fame of love…with an abbess’s throne.

..His love was flame after the male fashion,

Hers womanly in a gold-locked passion.
