A Poem from Glossolalia:  Men and Angels

 A Poem from Glossolalia:

           Men and Angels

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,
and have not love, I am become as sounding brass,
or a tinkling cymbal.” I Corinthians 13:1

Agreeable and thoughtful, is that quite

Enough?  No, not if he is like the dwarf

Of Notre Dame.  But what if Miles is bright

Of mind and lovely eyes?  Do those facts morph

Him into beauty of the sort that you

Could worship?  Sterling wisdom would advise

Against it.  What if he is stylish through

And through, not just trendy, if his eyes

Are far more interesting than blue or green,

And if his hair is ultra?  What if Miles

Is calm, is quietly spoken and is clean

Of heart and mind?  And what if he makes smiles

Inside you, in the marrow and the lung?

Yes, what if he is like an angel’s tongue?
