A Black and Curly Male Head Leads
I like this image since it shows he cares
More for his lyre than for his wife. He holds
It forward. Clearly future unsung airs
And poetry, as lovely as the folds
In robes behind him and the graceful wife,
Are more important than the one he draws
Along. He does not care about her life.
He turns and sends her back to Hades’ jaws.
Well, she was wearing only green and white,
So boring really with her hair of brown,
You’d turn and look and send her into night.
She should have worn an orgiastic gown.
Men have their principles. Among them, best
Of all, is poetry. Forget the rest.
