Time Shift
Time’s shrunk and stretched, jointly, like some Freak
Show trickery, a man with pulled out skin
……….
Combined with squinching mirrors. Time is sleek
And can’t be caught. It’s like besetting sin
That won’t be conquered. Toddlers feel that time
Is like forever. Christmas is as far
Away as Betelgeuse. Men in their prime
Feel hours and days are like a racing car
Gone out of control. The weeks and months speed
Too quickly like a head on crash of jets.
Red deadlines rush on Wall Street and stampede
In business, leaving guys in frantic sweats.
..Time isn’t like the speed of light since slow
….And fast at once, brief as joy, long as woe.
