Heavenly Bodies: We Made Night & Slept Separated After All
The night we made was everything but dark.
I put my surging galaxies inside
You. Both of us thought twilight was too stark
So we created moons — moons growing wide.
A full moon that we made was not enough.
We started in a twilight with a slice
Of silver that I cut inside you, rough
At first and last. The thrusts were meant to splice
The two of us. A comet I compelled
In darkness lit us both up. We two felt
It in the slickest brightness. Fullness welled
Up hotly making lonelinesses melt.
As night is separated from the day,
You separated from me, far away.
