Higher Still and Higher
That lower lip alone could cause us all
To ponder beauty in the abstract — if
The lip were not so lovely to enthrall
Beyond pale intelligence. A hieroglyph
For everything which symphonies desire,
This fuller plumpness with its carnal swerves
Distracts the chance for meditation. Fire
And craving focus on its feral curves.
The mouth inside, the face around that flesh
Are like a velvet showcase for a lush
Shape, sovereignty. It makes our hearts grow fresh
Convictions for divinities of plush.
..That lower lip reminds us of the need
…. For prayers because it makes the conscience bleed.
