Trinities
The Christ is loved the way a world is loved.
His crucifixion fires up God’s high seat;
We have to handle Him, asbestos-gloved,
Where Moses’ beard cascades to nail-pierced feet.
There mercy lights it, through them, from behind.
Adored by Mary and Elijah in
Their flame-red robes, He turns His ruby blind
Eyes to our hardness, our diamond sin.
Gautama calls for dismissivity
Too, pointing to the spaces in between
The lotus petals. Negativity
Reveals a vaulting, meaningful ravine.
Mohammad’s way is order and command,
A bound horizon made of desert sand.
