Halcyon Affections
There comes a morning when the clipper sails
Upon the Caribbean waves of sun,
Where warmth caresses billows, basking whales,
Cuddling, shining in that deeper love, fun.
Then climbs the noon when canvas billows full
Towards all happy destinations, when
The glistening journey sanctifies the hull,
Makes all aboard glamorous as mermen.
The day falls sweetly to an evening, long
As heaven, stretched by sultry flesh, desire
The color of what is luscious and wrong,
The tincture of skin touched by tropical fire.
The newest sunset gives a star-struck night
