Know Thyself
Most men exist in fuzziness of brain
At best. They do not really live in full
Possession of their truth. Men live in vain
And cannot really say that they can pull
The levers of reality because
They seldom think. No, they don’t really think.
Their brains are on but we too seldom pause
To weigh up life. When even on the brink
Of careful thinking and assessment wide
And deep as darkness thinning in the deep
Canyon of consciousness, they simply slide
Along in dimness like the sand
That’s blown across the precipice and falls
To weakness. Thinking sinks straight down and sprawls.
