Unity in Adversity
“live long life in little space” ~ John Keats
To live long life in little space, to live
And love within the boundaries allowed
Are manly limitations. We forgive
The universe, in fact are scarlet proud
To fill the challenge with adrenaline
And liquid ruby blood and ivory seeds
Implanted in each other. Gods within
Us starve us, parch hearts, and fulfil our needs
In perfect parallel civil wars. Veins
Flow thickly with our courage and our fears
Combined as spirochetes that leave their stains
Like plaques inside our hearts like mixed up tears.
We see each other and we do not see.
We know each other but are always me.
