One faith stands out.  It does not teach that souls

Exist and does not say they don’t.  It follows that

It does not say that god or God controls

The immortality of man or cat

Since soul is not involved, since soul is not

Existent or yet otherwise.  Instead

It deals with just one moment, one mere dot

Of fact, a slice of fresh or mouldy bread.

That’s all.  Eternity is not involved.

The second passes.  Bread does not become

The flesh of Christ.  No sinning is absolved.

The slice is not infinity or crumb.

The slice is just a slice, no less, no more.

    A woman’s just is a virgin or a whore.
