“As all the Heavens were a [Hollow] Bell”

“As all the Heavens were a [Hollow] Bell”

the music of the spheres

(160) ‘The Last Transit of Venus’ for Glass Armonica – YouTube

If I could fall forever through a space

We can’t imagine, through the space where spheres

Are less than spirit, where chimed physics’ place

Is less than we can see, through long-lost years

And future years, through levels where no time

Is measured, stars and galaxies would not

Have import since I’d fall or maybe climb

(While falling) and such climbing would mean naught

According to perspective since both mean

The same.  My plunge would take me close to stars

So spiritual that they would leave me clean,

More chaste than Jesus’ palms upturned with scars.

The vacuum of levels more like shade

Or ghost might make me hear where souls are weighed.
