Adolescent Philosophy Is Wet

     Adolescent Philosophy Is Wet

When hair on chest is not quite new or old

Long after armpits make announcements, too,

Young males are dragged along in being bold

In ways that they had only dreamed.  The coup

Of feeling over thought becomes a reign

Despotic like an unhinged Caesar’s power.

These would-be men wake up with sticky stain

In hidden hairs below.  The morning shower

In dorms with others peeping on gives no

Hint.  Later they will find the will to speak

Of love they do not understand, a glow

Their hearts acknowledge when the head is weak.

This love is deeper than the thoughts of youth.

    Emotion teaches doctrines trumping truth.
