Sunrise and Evening Star and Clearest Calls
The Virgin Birth, Divinity of Christ,
Existence or the non-existence of
One God or more, no matter how spliced, sliced
Are symbols we should nurture, even love
Them if they prove as fruitful as the tree
That Jesus cursed was not. If doctrines teach
Us our virginity and show how free
We are, they help us every one to reach
Our highest range. Divinity is ours
If only we embrace it. Presence in
Our souls of God existing gives us powers,
That we are with these doctrines, each one, twin.
Deny these doctrines wholly, or their sorts,
And we will have failed launchings and no ports.
