How They Grow
“all things were made by Him” ~ John 1:3
Consider how the lilies of the field
Grow. Think about not beauty nor their toil
But how they seed and root, so how they yield
From earth and stalks and stems and slowly coil
Out blossoms. How can this be done? They do
Not think it out or make a plan. Inside
Themselves they find the complicated slew
Of orders in each cell and so they glide
To vast complexity the mind cannot
Imagine. Deep within them DNA
Contains tight atoms with fixed figures fraught
In flawless promises that make flowers splay.
If you consider that, it won’t seem odd
To you that they are sequenced by this God.
