White and White and Blue and Blue

White and White and Blue and Blue

Some otherwhere the snow is lingering on

The ground between the bark of oaks or pines,

Perhaps beneath a peak awaiting dawn.

Mount Kilimanjaro looms above mines

Where gems of tanzanite desire midnight

To be removed, revealing gorgeous blue

More beautiful than Africa’s snowed height

That overlooks the Zanzibar tattoo

That stretches on the ocean’s body, blues

And whites around its shores.  White clouds beyond

The mountain would obscure my blue-eyed views

Of grandeur in the sky and coastal fronds

That hover over perfect beaches flared

Along the sea where blue and white are paired.
