Fixative on White Watercolor

Fixative on White Watercolor

Your hope is like a cloud—in a picture.

While firmer than a cloud, your hope is bright

And, yes, is fixed forever.  Your stricture

Keeps hope in place.  A watercolor white

Is painted on white paper—to make sure

The cloud is white.  Your faith is used to brush

Your white on white.  That white must stay as pure

As any cloud has ever been.  A flush

As blue as Mary’s mantle might be placed

Beside the cloud that fills that whitest space

But white is held as white.  It is Mary chaste.

All this becomes your portion due to grace.

..Your hope is like a picture cloud that’s framed.

….Your hope is more a desperate hope proclaimed.
