A thinker who can’t think attempts to be
Philosophy’s Big Name. He blames those who
Write poetry since they lead us to see,
At best, an imitation of the True.
Their simulacra are mere copies of
The high Ideals, so we should banish all
The poets, every one. They do not love
The strictest rightness he approves, appall
Him with their focus on esthetics, first,
And last, and everything between. They care
About emotions, nothing else. Accursed
They are by this great brain. There’s one big snare,
Though. Nearly constantly Plato annoints
His “thinking,” using Homer for his points.
