Prospero Between my Legs
My cat is lying on my duvet just
Between my spread out thighs and calves and knees.
That means he loves me or that he can trust
Me. Earlier he did it, not to please
Me but for pleasure for himself. He got
Excited, though. The situation grew
Intense for him. I don’t know why. It brought
Him to the point of scratch and bite. He threw
A fit of ecstasy against my hand
And skin. I shouted, “OUCH! OUCH! OUCH!” He failed
To get my message and to understand.
I had to slap him. Angry his tail flailed.
..He bolted from the bed. But then his fur
….Returned there, settling utterly in purr.
