A recent scientific study found
That birds are dinosaurs. These creatures are
Not merely cousins of those monsters bound
For mass extinction. That prolonged high haar
That killed off almost all their clan spared these
With feathers. Robins with their stabbing beaks
Are not sweet songbirds. With those beaks they squeeze
Their victims like tyrannosaurs. Song squeaks
Are really territorial demands
More like the Rex’s roar. The little shrill

Notes are a threat, bloodcurdling commands
To other red breasts. Blackbirds love to kill.
..They slaughter little animals like worms.
….As dinosaurs they do not mind the squirms.
