Deformities

               Deformities

It’s tripled Deuteronomy in length

That Allah-spawned Koran, iron nippled

In feeling, more than ninety proof in strength.

Anyone who loves it ends up crippled

By crushing combinations of its force

And numbness at the boring sameness of

It to the Bible, Hebrew stuff of course

Warmed over. Mercy and forgiveness, love

And all those things get mentioned, but (Jeeze!) laws

And blood are drowning, pulverizing stuff.

What’s not forbidden in these lines, these laws

Is only boring trash.  We cry, “Enough!  Enough!

We’ve heard it all before.”  (No.  Marriage to

Your siblings you do not have to eschew.)
